The jam-packed schedule for the conference on Orcas Island stretched over four days. Participants arrived at the island in the rain after a 4-5 hour boat ride from Seattle. At the dock they were handed bright green and white umbrellas imprinted with a hooks-and-money-fish image designed by artist C.T. Chew.

Most of the plenaries and all of the working sessions were documented either by transcripts of audio recordings or by reports written up by conference participants. These are included in the notebook, though not included here, or at least not yet.
